The Edusmart Group Story

Edusmart Academy opened as an Aftercare Centre (Edusmart Study Centre) in 2018 with 5 learners. In 2019 we became an Impaq Homeschooling Centre, assisting 9 learners.

The Centre grew in numbers in 2019 to accommodate 23 learners, which led to our registration with the WCED as Edusmart Academy in 2020. Currently, we offer the CAPS Curriculum to 60+ learners.

The Edusmart Group currently consists of Edusmart Academy and Futuresmart Academy, as well as Futuresmart Africa NPC

Edusmart Academy is a registered Independent Primary and Special School (Grades 1 - 7) for Neuro-diverse learners.

Futuresmart Academy consists of Futuresmart Acdemy Junior School (accommodating ASD learners Grades 1 - 7), as well as Futuresmart Digital Learning Centre (accommodating Neurodiverse High School learners  from Grades 8-12).

Edusmart Academy provides a niche for Grade 1 -7 learners with barriers to learning / silent disabilities or learners whom we regard as individuals with different and unique learning styles. These learners do not flourish in overpopulated classrooms in mainstream schools. Our typical learner profile is that of a learner who is described as not neurotypical / a-typical, or whose silent disability ranges from emotional to social to academic barriers, such as ADD (ADHD), Tourettes and Dyslexia, or a learner who simply needs a smaller classroom environment to grow in academic and personal confidence.

We focus on enabling these learners to find their ideal learning style, to celebrate their strengths and to teach them within a blended learning model. Grade 4-7 learners sharpen their digital skills by accessing content via Google Classroom on their personal laptops, and learning to use related Google apps such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Google Sites.

Edusmart is a dual-medium school that offers tuition in English and Afrikaans as Language of Learning and Teaching. We accept, welcome, and respect learners of culturally diverse backgrounds.
